We did a great hike today, around five miles with fantastic views of the rocky coast. As the ole saw goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Afterward we headed back to Alma and stopped for a pound of mussels and a couple beers to enjoy on a sun splashed patio. We also picked up a half pound of fresh lobster meat for thirty dollars Canadian, not a bad deal, especially with the favorable exchange rate, roughly 1-1.3.

Days like this remind me why I’m glad to be retired. Time is different now, there seems to be more of it. I had time to read every name on Alma’s war memorial commemorating the town residents who had served in our wars.

We headed back into town for dinner at Octopus's Garden Cafe. It was another great find. Check out this salad loaded with veggies and Fundy scallops. We split it along with a big ole bowl of Thai red curry chowder that was loaded with lobster, mussels, scallops, and cod.

One last rumination. On our trip last year we discovered that one of the realities of life on the road is bad hair. Every day brings it. Of course in my case the phrase is redundant to begin with, but it’s at another level on the road. But, that is what hats are for, and I have a lot of them along. I even have a hat box to carry them. Along with bad hair comes bad fashion, another specialty of mine, witness my plastic Birkenstocks paired with some stylin socks…

Another successful day...
