Today was an easy day. We just had to move Shirley from the west side of Cape Breton Highlands NP to the east side, roughly an hour and a half drive. We're doing five days in the park overall, and we split them given the size of the park. The drive was along one of the best stretches of Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail, known as one of the world's most beautiful drives. The three hundred km road is replete with endless views of the winding, rocky coast rimmed by highlands and headlands that run right up to the waters edge. It's spectacular at every turn: https://www.cbisland.com/tourist-attractions/cabot-trail/

It's a little tricky to navigate with Shirley, there are some seriously steep downgrades, sixteen degrees a few times. It can be a killer on truck brakes, to say nothing of a runaway camper scenario, there aren't any of those runaway truck ramps around:) It's drives like this where I really appreciate our monster truck, it's a great tow vehicle.

I've decided that Shirley's had a pretty good trip too. She's been perched in some pretty nice places. Here's a couple along the Cabot Trail.

The Broad Cove campground proved to be another quiet, beautiful spot. We hung with Shirley, made some pasta, and checked out our new neighborhood.

A damn successful day...
